Pikes Peak is a well known 14er in Colorado and is easily accessible for people of all ages and abilities. Travel the 19 mile highway that takes you through the mountain terrain Pikes Peak has to offer. There are several places to get out and stretch along the way. Have your camera ready to capture the beautiful scenery and wildlife that call the mountain home. In the summer months there are free shuttles that depart from different locations that will take you to the summit where the breathtaking views are endless. For over the last 130 years people from all over the world have been coming to see the beauty that is Seven Falls. Be refreshed by the sound of the water cascading down granite walls. The journey to Seven Falls has been made easy by the free shuttle that picks up near the Broadmoor and drops you off at the gate. Hikers can enjoy 2 different trails with different views of the falls. You can get your steps in by climbing the 224 step stairway that is next to the falls. First discovered in 1881, Cave of the Winds has been attracting visitors for over a century. Come and explore the underground caverns, it is unlike any adventure full of stalactites, stalagmites and underground geological features. Along with the caves, there is an outdoor park that is full of fun. Rides will send you flying through Williams Canyon, or find your way across canyon walls on cables and ladders. Wild adventure, that is how you can describe the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. In a beautiful setting on a mountainside at 6,800 feet above sea level is where you can find this amazing zoo that offers animals from around the world as well as those that are closer to home.
